Internal Medicine
Expert adult medicine focused on complex and chronic conditions.
Internal medicine is for adults managing ongoing or complex conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, or thyroid problems. New to the practice, feeling sick, or not sure where to start? Book a primary care visit first.
The average adult in the Bronx with diabetes also has at least two other chronic conditions. Managing one in isolation does not work. Internal medicine at Moses Medical exists to coordinate the full clinical picture.
Our internists handle hypertension, Type 2 diabetes, thyroid disorders, COPD, anemia, chronic kidney disease, and high cholesterol. For patients on five or more medications, the internist reviews the entire regimen for interactions, redundancies, and dosing adjustments that individual specialists may miss. Lab monitoring runs through the on-site lab, which means A1C, metabolic panels, and thyroid levels come back without a separate appointment.
When care requires mental health support, the referral stays within the practice, and the internist sees the same chart, the same labs, and the same medication list as every other provider involved. When a concern needs cardiology, endocrinology, or another outside specialist, the team helps arrange the referral and follows up on the results with you.
Keep medications and follow-up in one plan.
Confirm medication changes, lab orders, referrals, and the date each ongoing concern should be reviewed again.
